대학 교육의 방향은 빠르게 변화하고 있습니다.
미국은 이미 대학의 이름이나 학위의 길이보다 ‘무엇을 할 수 있는가’를 중심으로 한 미래지향적 교육 구조로 전환되었습니다. 특히 AI 기술의 급속한 발전 이후, 이론 중심의 4년제 교육보다 실무와 기술, 문제 해결 능력을 빠르게 익힐 수 있는 전문대학과 커뮤니티 칼리지 중심의 교육이 다시 주목받고 있습니다. 기업 역시 학벌보다 프로젝트 경험과 포트폴리오, 실제 업무 수행 능력을 중요하게 평가하고 있습니다.

반면 대한민국의 대학 문화는 여전히 4년제 중심, 학벌 중심의 과거지향적 인식이 강하게 남아 있습니다. 안정적인 선택이라는 인식 속에서 이론 위주의 교육이 반복되고, 실무와 진로 준비는 졸업을 앞둔 시점에서야 시작되는 경우가 많습니다. 그 결과 졸업 이후에도 다시 준비해야 하는 현실이 반복되고 있습니다.

우리 학부는 이러한 교육 환경의 변화 속에서 미국식 실무 중심 교육의 강점과 한국 현실에 맞는 효율적인 교육 구조를 결합한 교육 모델을 지향합니다. 입학과 동시에 프로젝트 기반 수업을 통해 브랜드 사고력, 기획력, 디자인 커뮤니케이션 능력을 체계적으로 훈련하며, AI를 단순한 기술이 아닌 사고를 확장하는 도구로 활용할 수 있는 역량을 키웁니다.

2년이라는 짧은 기간 동안 밀도 높은 실습과 반복 학습을 통해 현장에서 바로 활용 가능한 포트폴리오를 완성하고, 졸업과 동시에 경쟁력을 갖춘 인재로 성장하는 것이 목표입니다. 이제 질문은 분명합니다. 졸업할 때 단순한 졸업장만 가지고 나갈 것인가, 아니면 나를 대표하고 증명할 수 있는 작업물을 가지고 나갈 것인가. 그 선택의 차이가 미래의 방향을 결정합니다.

The direction of higher education is changing rapidly.
In the United States, higher education has already shifted toward a future-oriented model that prioritizes what students can do, rather than the name of the institution or the length of the degree. In particular, with the rapid advancement of AI technologies, practical colleges and community colleges—where students can quickly develop hands-on skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities—are gaining renewed attention over theory-centered four-year programs. Employers also place greater value on project experience, portfolios, and real-world performance than on academic pedigree.

In contrast, higher education in Korea still remains largely influenced by a four-year, degree-centered, and credential-focused mindset. While this is often considered a stable and conventional choice, theory-heavy education frequently delays practical training and career preparation until the final stages of graduation. As a result, many graduates find themselves needing additional preparation even after completing their degrees.

Our department responds to these changes by combining the strengths of U.S.-style, practice-oriented education with an efficient structure tailored to the Korean educational environment. From the moment students enroll, they engage in project-based learning that systematically develops brand thinking, planning skills, and design communication abilities. AI is approached not merely as a technical tool, but as a means to expand human thinking and creative judgment.

Through an intensive and highly focused two-year program, students build professional-level portfolios that can be applied directly in the field. Our goal is to cultivate graduates who enter the workforce with proven competitiveness. The question is clear: upon graduation, will you leave with only a diploma, or with a body of work that represents who you are and proves your abilities? That choice will shape the direction of your future.
